Position Title: Calibration Technician
Setting: Aerospace Components Manufacturer
Hours: Monday – Friday, First Shift
Reports To: Quality Manager

Job Summary:

  • This position focuses on management and maintenance of calibrated equipment through both physical management of calibrated equipment inventory and software used to manage calibrated equipment. Our calibrated equipment ranges from hand tools like micrometers, to go/no-go thread and spline gages to Zeiss scanning CMMs, Gleason gear/spline metrology systems, and calibrated equipment on machines. This role supports Manufacturing, Inspection, and the Quality Management System. Job duties include:
    • Communication of calibration schedule and recall of instruments due for calibration
    • Maintenance of calibrated equipment
      • Calibrate equipment that is calibrated in-house
      • Schedule and facilitate calibrations of equipment that is not calibrated in-house
      • Issue gages as they are needed
      • Recall gages
      • Ensure calibrations are done on-schedule and out of calibration gages are reported accordingly
    • Maintenance of software used to manage calibrated equipment
    • Set-up instruments like Sunnen and air gages for use internally and by vendors
    • Management of customer owned instruments

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO-9001 Manufacturing Environments
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft products and ability to quickly learn how to use and maintain GageTrak; familiarity with GageTrak is an advantage
  • Understanding of inspection instruments/equipment and basic understanding of calibration controls

The right person will be a quick learner, have good attention to detail, the ability to consistently follow established processes, and work to complete required tasks within the required timeframes. A background in manufacturing is required and an understanding of AS9100/ISO-9001 environments is a must.
